A true example of a heritage property blending old and new. An 1890's property in a Conservation Area bordering the Cotswold Way, originally built in a mix of Cotswold and 'tufa' stone (just like Berkeley Castle). This 'chocolate box' old workers cottage sat in a traditional book end terrace, historically serving the neighbouring mill house. With this rich heritage, the property required sympathetic stripping back whilst maintaining the original features. All floors and ceilings were removed due to dilapidation and damp and renovated to produce a mix of modern and traditional. All utilities were reinstalled, and the interior was sympathetically remodelled for modern living. Many original features were retained including several original fireplaces, pine/oak flooring and flag stones. The solid wood kitchen/quartz worktops looked out over a completely landscaped garden including the installation of a hot tub and modern, separate annex/gym/office. An enjoyable heritage project.
